AMPLIFY Clearwater Board of Directors Vote in Support of the Renewal of the Pinellas County School Tax Referendum

At the meeting of the Board of Directors of AMPLIFY Clearwater on August 25, 2020, the AMPLIFY Clearwater Board of Directors took a vote supporting the renewal of the Pinellas County School Tax Referendum.

AMPLIFY Clearwater supports Pinellas County School Tax because it is monies that return directly to our Pinellas County students, teachers and classrooms. In 2019, the school referendum cost the average single-family homeowner in Pinellas $85.85, just $7.15 a month, but it produced $44.5 million for Pinellas County schools.

The ballot language requires that referendum funds be spent for teacher pay, reading programs, arts and music and textbooks and technology. “Meeting the needs of our students is imperative to having an available, well-trained workforce which encourages continued economic investment,” said G. Scott Goyer, Chairman of AMPLIFY Clearwater. “AMPLIFY Clearwater’s Board of Directors is proud to advocate for initiatives that supports student’s experiences and achievements.”
