AMPLIFY Clearwater Board of Directors Unanimously Approves Resolution Supporting “The Landings Golf Course Project”
At the meeting of the Board of Directors of AMPLIFY Clearwater on August 25, 2020, the AMPLIFY Clearwater Board of Directors took a position supporting the referendum on The Landings Golf Course Project.
AMPLIFY Clearwater supports the referendum to lease and redevelop +/-58 acres of the municipal property at 1875 Airport Dr. Clearwater, commonly referred to as The Landings Golf Course, located north of Airport Dr., east of Keene Rd. and west of the Clearwater Airpark.
We believe that with the inclusion of the +/-12 acre aqua driving range and +/-8 acre public park, this initiative balances the need for public recreation with the need for well-paying stable employment opportunities in diverse industries for residents. We believe the residents of Clearwater will benefit from the projected $11+ million net increased tax benefits, as well as the projected 3,783.5 new jobs with average salaries of $47,076.
AMPLIFY Clearwater members support economic development efforts that seek to diversify Clearwater’s career opportunities for locals into a variety of industries while also growing our commercial tax base to help shoulder the burden for public amenities like parks and libraries.
The AMPLIFY Clearwater Board is in support of the Clearwater referendum to lease +/-58 acres of The Landings golf course for redevelopment into a light industrial, research, technology and office park. “This referendum is about job creation and increased opportunity for our citizens. “, said AMPLIFY Clearwater Chairman, Mr. G. Scott Goyer. “It comes at a time when it is needed most as our community and municipalities continue to feel the effects of the COVID19 pandemic.”
