CLEARWATER’S DOLPHINS, A PUBLIC ART EXHIBITION

MORE DOLPHINS ARE ARRIVING IN CLEARWATER

Clearwater, FL (July 26, 2012) – The Clearwater Regional Chamber, along with support from the City of Clearwater and Clearwater Marine Aquarium, has launched a project to artistically showcase the bottlenose dolphin.  The pod has grown from 38 to 50 dolphins. The 12 new dolphins will arrive at the Clearwater Special Events Armory, 706 North Missouri Avenue, Clearwater (directly south of Jack Russell Stadium) on Friday, July 27 at 10:00 am and approximately 20 completed dolphins will be returned.  The creativity and variety of the completed dolphins is amazing.

The dolphins are traveling from Icon Poly Studio in Gibbon, NE to Clearwater.  They are being delivered by the Icon Poly owners.  Artists and some sponsors will be at the Armory to pick up or drop off their dolphins. Each fiberglass dolphin is 6’ tall and weighs 80 pounds.

The tie in with Dolphin Tale and Clearwater Marine Aquarium – home to Winter is a natural fit.  With over 50,000 guests visiting the Tampa Bay area for the RNC, it is an ideal time to draw attention to the beautiful beaches and marine life enjoyed by residents and visitors each day.  This pod of dolphins will be on exhibit at Pier 60 Park, Clearwater Beach from August 6 – September 4, 2012.
