STATE OF THE ART ROBOTIC SURGERY – MOCK DEMONSTRATIONS WITH ROBOTIC SURGEON AT LARGO MEDICAL CENTER

You may have heard about robots in operating rooms. Now you can get to see how one works first hand at Largo Medical Center. Join us at 7:30 a.m. and then again at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 14th as General and Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Tiffany Jessee performs mock demonstrations showing how the robot is used while explaining its many benefits.

"From smaller incisions and fewer ones to quicker recovery times, the surgical robot gives patients more options when it comes to much of what we do in operating rooms today including general surgery, cardiac, Bariatric, urologic surgery and more," said Largo Medical Center General & Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Tiffany Jessee. "It also gives surgeons an increased ability to focus as well as greater dexterity and better control of instrumentation."

"As an academic medical center, we continue to look for, investigate, research and provide state of the art minimally invasive technology, like the robot, helping our patients get back to a lifestyle they deserve," said Largo Medical Center CEO, Anthony Degina.

Largo Medical Center is at the forefront of robotic technology in Pinellas County having been the first to have a surgeon perform a:
* robotic adjustable gastric band
* robotic single incision adjustable gastric band
* robotic sleeve gastrectomy
