CLEARWATER’S DOLPHINS, A PUBLIC ART EXHIBITION

DOLPHINS ARE ARRIVING IN CLEARWATER

Clearwater, FL (July 12, 2012) – The Clearwater Regional Chamber, along with support from Clearwater Marine Aquarium and the City of Clearwater, has launched a project to artistically showcase the bottlenose dolphin.  The pod of 38 dolphins will arrive at the Clearwater Special Events Armory, 706 North Missouri Avenue, Clearwater (directly south of Jack Russell Stadium) on Friday, July 13 at 10:30 am

The dolphins are traveling from Icon Poly Studio in Gibbon, NE to Clearwater.  They are being delivered by Icon Poly owners, Kyle and Daniele Vohland.  Artists and some sponsors will be at the Armory to pick up their dolphin and take them back to their local studios to begin the creative process.  Each fiberglass dolphin is 6’ tall and weighs 80 pounds.

The tie in with Dolphin Tale and Clearwater Marine Aquarium – home to Winter is a natural fit.  With over 50,000 guests visiting the Tampa Bay area for the RNC, it is an ideal time to draw attention to the beautiful beaches and marine life enjoyed by residents and visitors each day.  This pod of dolphins will be on exhibit at Pier 60 Park, Clearwater Beach from August 6 – September 4, 2012.
